HCL Technologies was successfully leveraging Application Tracking System till 2017 to fast track its recruitment process, which contributed effectively till then. However, by 2017, as the strategic business objectives changed, HCL decided to implement advanced technology to create more intelligent recruitment system called Techruit. The new system had to meet the broader objectives of experience, efficiency and impact. The decision dilemmas in front of the core HR team were to choose the right technology for enhancing the effectiveness of talent acquisition process, and the right combination of metrics to measure and improve recruiter performance.

The case describes which technology interventions industry is using to make recruitment system agile for volume hiring. At the same time the case explains that technology interventions alone are not adequate solutions to improve recruitment process in organizations. The case is intended to teach the students, importance of choosing the right recruitment metrics to measure productivity. After going through the case and assignment questions, the students will be able to do the following: 1. Designing a talent acquisition process that aligns with the business objective/s to hire quality candidates. 2. Understand the role of technology for a robust talent acquisition process. 3.
