A construction business owner hopes to expand his business by bidding for state government contracts but finds different layers of corrupt behavior throughout the process. He must figure out how to deal with issues of bribery and an influential “cartel” as he moves through the construction tender process. Deals with bribery, broken governmental systems, power and influence within government and industry, short-term versus long-term implications, corruption cartels/powerful players within an industry, individual and organizational reputations, layers of government process, and politics. Works well in organizational behavior, leadership, small business management, strategy and ethics courses, as well as in stand-alone workshops.
